What about a super paper display…
I just had a very cool idea.
It would be nice in future to have a display that really emulate paper. One way to do this would be tu use micropumps to generate bumby areas. The surface should be able to go from matte to glossy on demand. I don’t know how to achieve this though. It would add a lot to the experience.
Other cool features to have would be :
- multiple native color space (rgb, cmyk, Ycr…)
- adaptative paper texture (souft, rought, recycled, bond, etc)
I think it would make a computer screen that seriously rocks, think having the possibility of having the focused application glossy and raised, with the rest of the desktop would be lower and matte, possibility for games, tactile interaction, and the list goes on and on.
It owuld also make it a serious candidate for paper replacement, as designers would be able to use mostly the same set features as paper design.
